Sep.

A preparatory committee was created at Shizuoka University for the founding of a national medical college.

1974

Jun.

Hamamatsu University School of Medicine was found.

Faculty of Medicine, University Library and Administration Bureau were established.

Departments of Anatomy I, Physiology I, Biochemistry I, Pathology I, Microbiology, Internal Medicine I, Surgery I and Radiology were established in the Faculty of Medicine.

Ethics, Psychology, Legal, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and German were established in the Liberal Arts.

Jul.

The first entrance ceremony for the Faculty of Medicine was held.

1975

Mar.

The Educational Building was completed.

Apr.

A preparatory committee was formed to establish the University Hospital.

Departments of Anatomy Ⅱ, Physiology Ⅱ, Pathology Ⅱ, Pharmacology, Internal Medicine Ⅱ, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics were established in the Faculty of Medicine.

1976

Mar.

The Welfare Facilities were completed.

Mar.

Gymnasium was completed.

Departments of Hygiene, Public Health, Parasitology, Legal Medicine, Surgery Ⅱ, Orthopedic Surgery and Ophthalmology were established in the Faculty of Medicine.

Dec.

The first memorial service was held for deceased donor.

1977

Mar.

The Basic and Clinical Research Building was completed.

Mar.

RI Experimental Animals Institute, the Headquarters Building and the Educational Building were completed.

Apr.

The University Hospital was established.

Departments of Internal Medicine Ⅲ, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Urology, Otorhinolaryngology, and Anesthesiology were established in the Faculty of Medicine.

Clinical Care Departments of Internal Medicine I and Ⅱ, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Surgery I and Ⅱ, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Dentistry & Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery were established in the University Hospital.

Clinical Laboratories, Radiological Center, Surgical Operation and Central Supply were established in Central Clinical Facilities.

Hospital Pharmacy and Nursing were established.

Nov.

Partial Hospital Building was constructed and the Outpatient Services started.

Dec.

The building of the University Hospital was completed.

1978

Mar.

The Waste Disposal Center was completed.

Apr.

Departments of Biochemistry Ⅱ and Neurosurgery were established in the Faculty of Medicine.

Clinical Care Departments of Medicine Ⅲ, Neurosurgery were established in the University Hospital.
